Paying too much for internet?
High Speed Internet is available at the Open Computer Lab
in the LaGrange Heritage Square.  
There will be a fee of $30.00 for 30 punches for the use of the EWC Computer Center at the LaGrange Heritage Square.  The Computer Center is currently available Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm (and during Library hours).  Use up-to-date technology & software as well as internet access in the EWC Community Education computer center.  The center is available for use by any community member.  You do not need to be enrolled in a college class.  Anyone under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Call Cathy at the LaGrange Town Hall for more information or to register to use the computer center at 834-2466.

Fall 2015 Classes

 

Open Computer Lab
Instructor: Cathy Stoddard
Looking for a place to work on your computer projects? Use up-to-date technology and software as well as internet access at the LaGrange Heritage Square Computer Lab. The center is available for use by any community member. You DO NOT need to be enrolled in a collage course to use this lab.  Anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
Date: Fall Semester
Time:  7am-2pm and/or upon request      
Cost:  $30 punch card (30 punches per card)         
Location: LHS Computer Lab


Fall Ball
This session replaces the summer session II baseball. Participants will be placed on one of two teams and compete in baseball games three nights a week for three weeks. The games will be six innings starting at 4:30 (participants need to arrive at 4:15), Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning on Monday, August 24th.
An awards ceremony and snacks will follow the final game on September 10th. Teams will be mixed ages and co-ed. Each participant will have a team shirt and cap. Bring your own water/sport drink!
Please Register by August 3rd 2015 so we can get a count and have T shirts ready for the first game!! Be sure to complete the grade and shirt size on registration.
Class minimum:  8 per team
Age: Kindergarten thru 7th grade
Location- LaGrange Community Baseball field
Schedule: Saturday Aug 22nd; 4:30-??  Meeting and practice.
                Games: August 24, 25, 27, 31 September 1,3,7,8 &10 at 4:30pm
                        End of season award ceremony: September 10th after the game.
Cost: $20, includes t-shirt, ball cap & awards


Co-Ed Volleyball
Instructor- Laurie Kelly
Come and enjoy the game of volleyball.  All skill levels welcome.  Basic competitive volleyball rules apply.  Ages 15 to Adult
Location- LaGrange Elementary School Gymnasium
Time- 7pm-9pm
Date- Thursdays, September 10th to December 10th
Cost- $3


Frisbee Golf 101
Instructor- Nehemiah Steinbrecher
Not sure what the baskets with chains at the park are for?  Looking for a fun way to enjoy the outdoors? Discover what disc golf (a.k.a. Frisbee golf) has to offer in this fun and informative class. We will go over the basic rules of disc golf, the purpose of different types of discs, the five basic throws, and why disc golf has become so popular with people of all ages. The game is not only affordable for the entire family, it is a game that can be played with your parents, your kids as well as others your own age. “I look forward to this opportunity to help let others know about this fun & exciting sport that I enjoy.” Nehemiah Steinbrecher

 Beginning Self-Defense and Safety
Instructor- Mike Clayton
This class focuses on safety and self-defense for children and teens. Students will be introduced to identifying potential threats, verbal and physical self-defense tactics, as well as general safety at home and in public. Adult partners are encouraged to participate or observe and will be no charge if in attendance with registered child. Children registered under the age of 8 MUST have an adult participating partner to help them understand and engage in the course. The instructor, Mike Clayton, is a Sergeant in the field of corrections and a lifelong study of martial arts with emphasis in self-defense combat. His motivation is to ensure every child and family is aware of potential threats in order to prevent incidents and can maintain composure and confidence during escape attempts in the event of attacks.

Ages- All ages (children under 8 require an adult or teen partner to participant)
Time- 3pm-6pm
Date-Saturday October 10th
Cost- $20 first student, $10 each additional student in the same family.


Let’s Make Pumpkins!
Instructor: Adele Wells
Halloween is fast approaching!  Let’s decorate! Come make a corrugated pumpkin with Adele. All supplies will be provided and you will take home your pumpkin for the shelf. You will be using paints so dress accordingly please.
Preregister by Friday October 9th

Sock Hop
Instructor: Natalie Clayton
What is a Sock Hop?? A sock hop is traditionally where schools had a dance but kids danced in socks or stockings so they wouldn't damage the gym floor with hard shoes. Now we just call a 50's style dance a sock hop because that is when it originated. With that being said let’s have a sock hop!! We will be playing a variety of music from country, hip hop and old time rock n roll. Wear your favorite 50’s style costume and don’t forget your socks!! Costumes are not required although, there will be prizes to the best costume in each age group.

PeeWee Basketball Camp Ages 5-7  
Instructor: Chandra Stoddard
This mini-camp is set up as a fun filled introduction to the sport of basketball.  Focus will be based on basic basketball skills along with basic movement and eye-hand coordination.  Emphasis will be placed on the development of good habits in teamwork and sportsmanship

Date:  Saturday November 14th         
Time:  1pm-2pm               
Cost: $10         


Elementary Basketball Camp Age 8+
